I guess I’m now a morning person?
WHAT.
As I once again doomscrolled on my phone at 12:35am for ways to help me feel less stressed so I could poop more I came across a video about the importance of our circadian rhythm. Like duh, sleep is important and sun on your skin is important, and now wait….apparently TIMING is important (as if we don’t have enough to keep track of am I right?). It’s not just about getting sun, but what TYPE of sun, and apparently certain waves only come out in the first two hours or something after the sun rises. Or like midday sun is the only time you can get vitamin D?! UGH cmooooon can’t I just stay up all night and barely go outside ever and be super healthy *hisses from a dark corner of her room through her vampire teeth*.
And then this woman said “Waking up with the sun is ideal!”
And I immediately was like “Fuck that, I’m not waking up with the sun.”
And then I woke up with the sun the next day.
And then the next.
And the next.
And then I found myself sleeping with the sun too.
And now I’ve been waking up and sleeping with the sun for a week and you know what…I actually feel less groggy during the days.
Am I pooping more? No, I am in fact still on my quest to poop daily *grabs a sword and shield and runs out the front door screaming*. However I realized something: I can be a morning person. I technically am a morning person now. I get up at freakin 6am. My parents will be so proud!!!
And this made me wonder what else I’ve been telling myself; the narratives we have on replay in our minds. I guess those narratives really do have an impact on us.
And maybe we need to try some new ones out.
I mean look at me.
I now wake up with the freakin sun *raises her sword to the sky in a really cool pose while being outlined by the sunlight*.
